Long Way to the Server Room

I didn’t come to IT through a computer science program teaching theory. I came through Aviation and Search & Rescue; where systems fail in the weather, on a clock, and nobody gets to say “we’ll look at it Monday.” Where the inability to manage something as simple as a bad radio might carry with it consequences that threaten someone’s life.

Different work, same lesson: Things break under load, when nobody expects it, and the ones who come through unscathed are the ones who planned and trained for failure instead of clear skies.

I bring the weight of that experience to every new project. I’m less interested in an elegant diagram than in what happens at 3am when a switch flaps and brings operations to a halt, and I’ve spent my career working with specialized systems that simply had no spare to rely on.

Too small for a security team; Too exposed to keep going without one

Many companies don’t have the resources for a full time security department, but still need someone who can uncover risk and turn the analysis into practical fixes that actually get implemented.

I give small and medium size organizations access to practical security leadership without the cost of building a full internal team.

These are the design and development projects I have recently completed independently, covering the entire process from concept to launch.
